Reflection

Almost year ago I decided to start my blog, Simply J. Leigh. I didn’t know where this journey was going to take me. But I knew I needed an outlet. I needed to connect. I need to utilize my gift and love for writing and share my stories and experiences of marriage, motherhood, and so much more. And it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. It has opened me up and allowed me to no longer feel ashamed about my struggles but it’s made me feel more human and connected to the other women and moms

I talked a lot about my apprehension to share my gift’s because I don’t like being in the spotlight and I don’t like being too vulnerable - but doing this has even created a confidence, yet a humility in me to be okay releasing. Releasing the joys, the blessings, and the messiness of life.

Watching myself evolve as a mother and wife over the last couple of years has been rewarding, and knowing that my audience is expanding and people are actually enjoying and connecting with the blog makes it all worth it. My goal was always to inspire and relate to others. Because at the end of the day, we’re more alike than different.

So, thank you guys for sticking with me on this new journey! Year ONE of blogging and I’m excited to see this continue to evolve and for us mommy’s to come together to encourage, support, and love one another through the beautiful craziness! ☺️

I have some really good things in store for 2023 and ways I plan to continue to heighten the blog experience. I can’t say that I’ll post weekly or stick to a specific schedule - because let’s be real - I’m a mom! And now a working mom again. And sometimes… I just might go through spells with minimal posts - but bare with me y’all.

I like my posts to be authentic - not forced. I like to connect with what I’m sharing and I’ve never been one to do anything unless I’m connected emotionally and even spiritually to it. But I do know with social media and developing my brand and growing my audience- consistency is key! So be patient with me and just know, as I continue to evolve, so will Simply J. Leigh!
